Fighting the troll downstairs with music.
Candlelight.
Each day this lock-down gets more surreal. I mark the rules - large fluorescent shopping bag in hand. An alibi or rouse if anyone should ask. Today I walked to Aldi, for something different. Strips of silver ductape, and bubble perspex cashier zones, enforcing the 2 meter rule. Eyes averted in case of contact. I speak with everyone. I force intimacy with smiles and words. Like prisoners in an exercise yard. I reach out to find the other humans lurking. The ones without the masks; the ones who still remember normal, and a God that means no harm . Yes there is a peace, a more bearable space now the machine lies silent. But I wonder? How will it start again? and will it jar? that sudden striking voltage after the stillness and the quiet? MB
