The healer ( hammond 1)

His surety of control was flanked by hubris, skull like eyes and haughty rightness, he sucked the air, and then he sucked the earth to dryness- and yet she still let him in. What things we squander upon all the things that don't sit right, they leave us with no space, and a perpetual rigormortis of the life. MB

Big bad hot things: To my dad/ Jose of the sisters is coming monday for leak repairs.

My mouth is a station, a border wall brutally manned.

My teeth are the sentries, my tongue, the unloaded gun.

And with it, htere is  non-shriek of silence; a mute of  hair-trigger rounds,

These are the defences of my killing army of violence, that long to blaze your error to the ground. MB

The first monday morning write after the T va.c.cination visit.

The beaded elvis suit

Threads, like loose billowing waves. Rough notes where she wanted to stay. Bright and blind. Soft work, firm within the coil, hard in the underlay. Shimmers, and silent tracks of things. A pattern within the order.

Shoes , she remembered, she had worn them; before she had boarded the train where they had welcomed her with diamonds; and at the hospital, a queer place, where poor folks gathered beside deep pools into which they dived/lay. She too had had her turn, as an efficient nurse directed; until the music stopped and she, the main element, had waited in her beaded suit; for those were the night places; cut off  but wholly in the drift of their own self thinking. But now, eyes open,  in the morning bed, she fought the layers upwards into her day. MB

  You've hurt someone.

1. Own your role: communicate that you understand how you hurt them. Focus solely on them, not your own feelings. By owning your role, you let a person know they matter to you.
2. Don't defend: resist the urge to defend yourself or your actions. This will feel scary and vulnerable, but it will help the person resolve their pain. Keep breathing when you feel uncomfortable.

3. Let them get it out: when we hurt people, they need to be able to communicate how they feel. Let them express themselves. Don't interrupt. Don't try to deflect. The more you resist this, the less likely the person will be able to move forward.

4. Ask "How can I be better next time?": listen to what a person will need in the future from you. If this is something you're capable of giving, then commit to it and honor your word.

5. Be the secure base: everyone heals from pain differently. If they need some space or time, let them have it. Reassure them that you're here and ready to work on the relationship. Don't try to change or fix how they feel.

Working through conflict can actually be so healing for both people. It will establish trust and let the person know you're committed to working as a team. Do you do this with people in your life? Share in the comments...
