The right to determine your own body..commonly known as being "badly behaved"

Please research honour killings which are just another facet of patriarchy and therefore not confined to or determined by religion, but primarily by sex. Overwhelmingly it is men of all races , religions and social strata that carry out these heinous acts. You do yourself and the victims of such murders a gross disservice when attempting to frame them in any other way; especially when using these deaths as a means to score cheap points in an attempt to justify a clearly agenda ridden narrow point of view.

Previously these gender based murders were common through out the mediteranean, with the law enshrined in Roman times ( Lex Julia de adulteriis coercendis) only being ammended in 1981 in Italy. These gender based murders have been recorded from the aztecs to the Incas and still ocur in Albania and parts of eastern europe today. In france and spain they were called "crimes of passion".The Napoleonic Code Article 324 which was passed in 1810 permitted the murders of an unfaithful wife and her lover at the hand of her husband. It was abolished only in 1975. from wikipedia: " Similar to other Southern/Mediterranean European areas, "honor" was traditionally important in Italy. Indeed, until 1981, the Criminal Code provided for mitigating circumstances for such killings; until 1981 the law read: Art. 587: He who causes the death of a spouse, daughter, or sister upon discovering her in illegitimate carnal relations and in the heat of passion caused by the offence to his honour or that of his family will be sentenced to three to seven years. The same sentence shall apply to whom, in the above circumstances, causes the death of the person involved in illegitimate carnal relations with his spouse, daughter, or sister.[113][114] Traditionally, honor crimes used to be more prevalent in Southern Italy."

This issue is greater than Islam and deserves to be viewed that way. from Steubenville to Karachi to campauses across american there is a war by men on the female kind.  MB
