Remembering the CBD facts

One girl was evacuated during the blockade of Leningrad. Her name was Lenochka.

She was so little and exhausted, that she forgot her last name. She lost a whole family; mother, grandmother, elder brother...

A special group of skinny girls found her - they were going from apartment to apartment during a terrible blockade winter looking for children whose parents had died or were dying...

This is how they discovered Lenochka and could evacuate her. She didn't remember being carried across the ice with other children in a shaking truck, she didn't remember getting to the orphanage; she was little. Like a skinny midget with a big head on a thin neck...

And she refused to eat anymore. This is what happens with dystrophy. She was laying in bed or sitting in a chair by the stove. She was getting hot. And she kept her mouth shut. They thought Lenochka would die. Many children died already during the evacuation; severe exhaustion and no strength to live and eat. And to play. And to breathe...

One-legged topper, war veteran uncle Kolja, about twenty years old, unpacked a doll from an old towel. Somehow he cut it, folded it, sewn it and it became an ugly doll. He drew the doll's eyes and mouth with an indelible pencil. And a crooked nose.

He gave a doll to Lenochka and seriously said:

"You, Lenochka, cradle the doll. And teach her to eat well! You are now a mommy doll. Take good care of her. "

And this Lenochka suddenly grabbed a doll and pressed it together. She began to pet her with thin hands. At dinner, she fed the doll porridge and whispered something loving to her. And in the end, she ate porridge and a piece of bread herself...

And so Lenochka slept with the doll and warmed her by the stove, hugged her, and got upset because of her. Because of an ugly doll made of an old towel with painted eyes ...

The girl has survived. Because she couldn’t die; she had to take care of the doll, you know?

HAVING SOMEONE TO TAKE CARE OF IS A HUGE LIFE FOR SOME PEOPLE.

For people like this girl was. Who later became a nurse and lived a long life. And her hands were always busy. And she had a heart full of love.

Two days rain/ the Americans have gone

Sophia Magdalena Scholl (1921-1943) was a Christian anti-Nazi political activist, active within the non-violent White Rose Resistance group. Scholl, along with her brother Hans, were imprisoned, convicted of high treason and beheaded for distributing anti-Nazi literature. The White Rose Resistance sought to bring an end to the oppression of the Jews and others while the majority of the German church remained silent.

These where her final words before she was executed:
"How can we expect righteousness to prevail when there is hardly anyone willing to give himself up individually to a righteous cause. Such a fine, sunny day, and I have to go, but what does my death matter, if through us, thousands of people are awakened and stirred to action?"~Sophie Scholl
Another excellent word from Scholl:
"The real damage is done by those millions who want to 'survive.' The honest men who just want to be left in peace. Those who don’t want their little lives disturbed by anything bigger than themselves. Those with no sides and no causes. Those who won’t take measure of their own strength, for fear of antagonizing their own weakness. Those who don’t like to make waves - or enemies. Those for whom freedom, honour, truth, and principles are only literature. Those who live small... die small. It’s the reductionist approach to life: if you keep it small, you’ll keep it under control. If you don’t make any noise, the boogeyman won’t find you. But it’s all an illusion, because they die too, those people who roll up their spirits into tiny little balls so as to be safe. Safe?! From what? Life is always on the edge of death; narrow streets lead to the same place as wide avenues, and a little candle burns itself out just like a flaming torch does. I choose my own way to burn."~Sophie Scholl

4am boundaries with Tiz

🐚 Anne Frank‘s censored diary passages about her female anatomy and sexuality. 🐚
Did you know that the famous Anne Frank‘s Diary was partly censored, because some parts were considered „too sexual“?
In the text bellow you can find more information about it and the mentioned diary entries. Anne Frank‘s talent and tragic story touched my heart as a girl. May her voice, uncensored, keep teaching girls history, compassion, courage and truth.
Vaginal Description: Friday, March 24, 1944. Second half
„I’d like to ask Peter whether he knows what girls look like down there. I don’t think boys are as complicated as girls. You can easily see what boys look like in photographs or pictures of male nudes, but with women it’s different. In women, the genitals, or whatever they’re called, are hidden between their legs. Peter has probably never seen a girl up close. To tell you the truth, neither have I. Boys are a lot easier. How on earth would I go about describing a girl’s parts? I can tell from what he said that he doesn’t know exactly how it all fits together. He was talking about the “Muttermund,” [* cervix], but that’s on the inside, where you can’t see it. Everything’s pretty well arranged in us women. Until I was eleven or twelve, I didn’t realize there was a second set of labia on the inside, since you couldn’t see them. What’s even funnier is that I thought urine came out of the clitoris. I asked Mother one time what that little bump was, and she said she didn’t know. She can really play dumb when she wants to!
But to get back to the subject. How on earth can you explain what it all looks like without any models? Shall I try anyway? Okay, here goes!
When you’re standing up, all you see from the front is hair. Between your legs there are two soft, cushiony things, also covered with hair, which press together when you’re standing, so you can’t see what’s inside. They separate when you sit down, and they’re very red and quite fleshy on the inside. In the upper part, between the outer labia, there’s a fold of skin that, on second thought, looks like a kind of blister. That’s the clitoris. Then come the inner labia, which are also pressed together in a kind of crease. When they open up, you can see a fleshy little mound, no bigger than the top of my thumb. The upper part has a couple of small holes in it, which is where the urine comes out. The lower part looks as if it were just skin, and yet that’s where the vagina is. You can barely find it, because the folds of skin hide the opening. The hole’s so small I can hardly imagine how a man could get in there, much less how a baby could come out. It’s hard enough trying to get your index finger inside. That’s all there is, and yet it plays such an important role!
Yours, Anne M. Frank“
Erotic Feelings Towards a Girl: Thursday, January 6, 1944
“Unconsciously, I had these feelings even before I came here. Once when I was spending the night at Jacque’s, I could no longer restrain my curiosity about her body, which she’d always hidden from me and which I’d never seen. I asked her whether, as proof of our friendship, we could touch each other’s breasts. Jacque refused.
I also had a terrible desire to kiss her, which I did. Every time I see a female nude, such as the Venus in my art history book, I go into ecstasy. Sometimes I find them so exquisite I have to struggle to hold back my tears. If only I had a girlfriend!”

La Femme Damnée (The Cursed Woman, 1859)

erotic paintings femme damnee

Tassaert may have caused many fans to flutter and cheeks to flush, but now we stand in awe of their great composition and daring of his erotic paintings

The pernicious addiction to alcohol and the unrelenting loss of vision dragged the talented artist Nicolas François Octave Tassaert away from the arts and into a listless life where the only respite was literature. Ultimately, he committed suicide in his modest home at Rue du Géorama in Paris. What truly led to his lack of recognition and society's repudiation was that the theme Tassaert explored the most in his paintings was eroticism. His paintings were certainly not rose tinted; he represented the life of the poor, dysfunctional families, dying mothers and children, or sick people. He was a painter and sculptor of works that were highly charged, depicting the carnal act, seduction, temptation, and sexual pleasure. He was the patron of lust in the art world par excellence.
While today Nicolas François is a well-loved painter, this Parisian artist was an outcast from the artistic circles of his time and the public spurned his creations. He carried in his blood generations of artists, and he was a pupil in the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-arts in Paris. With such a heavy burden on his shoulders, he was disappointed never to be awarded the acclaimed Prix de Rome nor the Legion of Honor. To make a living, he had to do historical, epic paintings and portraits.
