The Path
There's something containing about committing to a daily known path. The melding of the inner world, with the outward ebb and flow. Each day presenting something different, but essentially the same. New blooms and signals. The subtlety of gentle currents that strike and form, and from which relationship grows. A tree, the house with the broken down door, the little angry dog that barks as you walk by; or just the way the sun shifts into the late afternoon light. It's all an expanding familiarity that deepens and builds on the day that went before. Like the Old men in groups who have moved from initial grudging wary nods; to now hearty cries of " neighbour" and " hello". Each walk is an opportunity to settle in into the roots of being; the place beyond mind. To ride the storms, grasp the knots, and somehow find and feel the light.
